“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.” Carl Jung

Dina talks about ImageWork

How did I end up here?

Everything that you create in your life, from an omelette to a multinational company to a love affair, begins as an image in your mind. These images are often unconscious and may even originate in very early childhood. It stands to reason that some of them will be long past their sell-by date, even positively dangerous to your health.

Does this explain why you sometimes feel that the life you are living is the one you would ever choose consciously, why you find yourself whispering to yourself “How did I end up here?”

What you imagine you can become

Wouldn’t it be great to be able to see all the images that are secretly guiding you revealed right before your eyes? For example, are you a bird searching for your nest, or a lion pacing up and down in a cage, or a rhododendron that has outgrown its pot or, for that matter, a tree full of fruit luxuriating in the spring?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to know how to drop out the images that have been messing up your life, and to create new ones that take you where you want to go?

Wouldn’t it be reassuring to know that some inner guidance is available from deep inside you to keep you on track, indeed to draw the map for you so that you know that you are acting in line with your highest purpose and your greatest joy?

And to know a fast and easy way to gain access to it, so that you can hear the whisperings of the soul before they become shouts and get you into trouble?

Think of it this way. If where you are is the best you’ve been able to imagine, you need to imagine better.

This is what ImageWork is all about.

The power of imagery

Using imagery has the proven power to deepen and speed up any learning, healing, problem solving or creative process. Successful, highly skilled, healthy and creative people all use imagery naturally.

ImageWork is a unique, safe and empowering way of harnessing your own inner imagery to enquire into your inner world so that you can live and act more effectively in the outer world. You can learn to use imagery to enhance  every aspect of your life, personally, professionally, creatively and spiritually.

History repeats itself, but it doesn’t have to

The images in your mind, and the associated attitudes as well as emotional and physical feelings in your body, are in good part a result of your personal history and how you responded to it. Confidence in your past success or fears of past failure, expectation of being loved or of being rejected and hurt, and so on, predispose your choice to step forward or back.

These images, feelings and attitudes reach back into your earliest childhood before memory, but also come from your adult life and all your heartful and hurtful experiences. Some of these ways of seeing and being are messing up your best laid plans, and others are a lifeline. The trick is to look carefully at them all, and figure out which is which.

At a turning point, you are building on your learnings from the past as well as looking toward the future. The more consciously you can do this, the more you can let go of the images that are stopping you, and build those that will support you.

Be your own therapist, healer, and consultant

ImageWork is a self help method, designed to bring the secrets of therapists, coaches, consultants, healers, and spiritual teachers to you via your own imagination. You can learn it from my books, and use my audios, though it helps to start off in a course or with a coach to get you on your way and keep you focused. It is also great for swapping sessions with friends who have learnt how to do it too.

Creating it was my way of saying that although I love being a therapist and coach, in the end I think it is more effective to be a teacher. I want to give you the skills so that you can access your own wisdom, love and power, and think and act differently every day of your life.

Back to the future or forward to the past

ImageWork includes a series of ways of structures that help you to use imagination for everything from mapping your life to looking at your health to understanding time and money to improving your relationships–and everything else you can think of.

You can go back to the past and help the child you used to be to finally have that happy childhood and to heal any wounds left from the one you had. Or you can put yourself into the future you want, look back to see how you got there, and then set your will and intention to start moving and to make that vision come true.

Or you can explore all the different paths that you are thinking about, and find out how they seem likely to turn out in 5, 10, or 15 years. Or go to the House of Health, or the House of Time and Money, or the House of Love.

Anything is possible in the world of the imagination.

ImageWork for Turning Points and New Beginnings

ImageWork and turning points go hand in hand, because it is through getting in touch with your inner images that you gather the clues that reveal how to make sense of puzzling events and feelings in your life, and what insight or vision will turn you around or show you your next step.

And imageWork is also about intention and the power to carry out the intentions, and the practical steps you need to take to get there. So it also is the stuff of new beginnings.

Live your brilliance

This is a new way of thinking, and added to all your other ways of thinking, it will help you to find and live your brilliance.

The effects are profoundly healing, empowering and expanding. Once you open your life to using imagery in this way, you will never want to do without it.

I know I couldn’t. But why would I want to?

Rock your imagination, open the doors of your consciousness, live your soul purpose, find peace and share it all around.  As every philosopher and teacher has said from time immemorial, all this is available to you, if you only know how to look.
